AALCO are the UK's largest independent multi-metal stockholders with 18 service centres operating throughout the British mainland. Kellwood LED Lighting approached AALCO almost 2 years before project implementation.
Existing lux levels were considered substandard for the environment and the facility's energy and maintenance costs were becoming prohibitive.
The Kellwood Group's lighting and electrical divisions delivered, installed, and commissioned a specialised warehouse LED lighting system. Base energy reductions were calculated to be over 70%. Through remote controlled, independently operating intelligent protocols, additional energy savings of approximately 15% are expected.
Lux levels were raised to almost 3 times the level of those previous and now meet CIBSE recommendations. Considered application of optic variations from light fitting to light fitting ensured uniformity and output were balanced to suit both machine processing and stockholding zones.
